But\u2026 \u201cwe have no independence, just the goras (whites) have gone and kalas (blacks) have come,\u201d stimulates my anger. A comment from someone who claims to follow Gandhiji. India is just not a country or a nation but an outcome of various cultures\u2026 An outcome of various revolutions and uprisings\u2026an outcome of various traditions. No one has the right to belittle it come whatever shortcomings it may have by\u2026\u00a0 \u201cAnna is India and India is Anna\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>We got independence about 60 years back.\u00a0 But 60 years is too big a time span. At this juncture we need to thin&#8230;do we really need another Gandhi for our fight against the corruption against ourselves. Sixty years back our mission was to send out the foreigners and get Independence. We were united&#8230; we were fighting together.<\/p>\n<p>But now&#8230;We are fighting to free ourselves from our own evils&#8230; we are groups fighting against groups within us.<\/p>\n<p>Are we that much foolish that we can be fooled by a person with a special type of dictatorial tendency and his few thousand followers gathering on the Ramlila grounds. They may be angry with corruption but do they understand the nuances of our democratic institutions.
